Lumen AI ("we," "our," or "the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide:
- Chat messages: The text you type into the chat interface is sent to third-party AI providers (listed below) to generate responses. Messages are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
- API keys: If you provide your own API keys for AI providers, they are stored securely in your device's Keychain and are never transmitted to us.
Information collected automatically:
- Anonymous analytics: We may collect anonymous usage data (e.g., feature usage frequency, crash reports) using privacy-first analytics. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.
- Subscription status: Your subscription status is managed entirely by Apple through StoreKit and is not stored on our servers.
Information we do NOT collect:
- We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any personal identifiers.
- We do not track your location.
- We do not use advertising identifiers (IDFA).
- We do not sell or share your data with data brokers.
2. Third-Party AI Providers
When you send a message, your chat content is transmitted to the AI provider you have selected. Each provider has its own privacy policy:
- OpenRouter — openrouter.ai/privacy
- DeepSeek — deepseek.com/privacy
- Groq — groq.com/privacy-policy
- Together AI — together.ai/privacy
- Google Gemini — ai.google.dev/terms
- Moonshot AI (Kimi) — moonshot.cn/privacy
We recommend reviewing each provider's privacy policy before using their services. We do not control how these providers handle your data once transmitted.
3. Data Storage
- On-device: All conversation history is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
- iCloud sync: If you enable iCloud, your conversations may sync across your Apple devices via Apple's CloudKit. This data is encrypted and managed by Apple.
- No server storage: We do not operate our own servers. We do not store your messages, API keys, or personal data on any server we control.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not have access to your payment information (credit card number, billing address, etc.). Subscription management, including cancellation, is handled through your Apple ID settings.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
- You can delete individual conversations or all data at any time within the app.
- Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.
- To remove iCloud-synced data, disable iCloud sync for Lumen AI in your device's Settings.
6. Children's Privacy
Lumen AI is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
7. Security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data:
- API keys are stored in Apple's Keychain (hardware-encrypted storage).
- All network communications use HTTPS/TLS encryption.
- iCloud data is encrypted by Apple both in transit and at rest.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access all data stored on your device (it's all local).
- Delete all your data at any time.
- Opt out of analytics (if implemented).
- Request information about data practices by contacting us.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by the "Effective Date" at the top. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
