Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Lumen AI ("the App"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Description of Service

Lumen AI is an artificial intelligence chat application that connects to third-party AI model providers to generate text-based responses. The App serves as an interface to these providers and does not itself generate AI content.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App.
If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent.
By using the App, you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. Account and API Keys

Certain features require API keys from third-party AI providers. You are responsible for obtaining these keys in accordance with each provider's terms.
You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your API keys.
You are responsible for all activity that occurs using your API keys.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Lumen AI offers auto-renewing subscription plans (monthly and annual) through Apple's App Store.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same price.
Free trials, if offered, automatically convert to paid subscriptions unless cancelled before the trial ends.
You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID Account Settings.
No refunds will be provided for the unused portion of any subscription period, except as required by applicable law or Apple's refund policies.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to use the App to:

Generate content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable.
Generate content that exploits minors in any way.
Impersonate any person or entity.
Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App.
Circumvent any usage limits, rate limits, or access controls.
Use the App for any purpose that violates applicable local, state, national, or international law.

6. AI-Generated Content

All responses in the App are generated by third-party AI models, not by Lumen AI.
AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading. You should not rely on it as the sole source of information for important decisions.
We do not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or appropriateness of any AI-generated content.
You are responsible for how you use AI-generated content.

7. Third-Party Services

The App connects to third-party AI providers. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of third-party services.

8. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by Lumen AI and protected by intellectual property laws.
You retain ownership of the content you input into the App.
Ownership of AI-generated outputs is subject to the terms of the AI provider that generated them.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LUMEN AI SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, OR PROFITS.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or third parties.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. The updated version will be indicated by the "Effective Date" at the top. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the applicable jurisdiction.
